Countdown to Kindergarten
Countdown to Kindergarten is designed to increase family awareness of kindergarten expectations, create positive home-school relationships, and ensure a smooth transition to school. Spartanburg First Steps has partnered with this program since 2019. For more information click here.

Spartanburg County First Steps held its second Free Community Forum of the series “What Matters Most” on Nov. 11, 2014. Dr. Paula Schubert delivered an important message to the audience about how the “Early Years Matter” when it comes to the development of young children. The audience had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss early childhood development with our speaker and panel of experts. Our next Free Community Forum will be held in February 2015. We are excited to have a National Speaker in the field of Early Childhood Development join us. We hope that you will join us too. Stay tuned for details!

Spartanburg County First Steps Early Head Start staff members attended the 20th Head Start Awareness day in Columbia last week. This event was held to kick off the 50th year of Head Start. There were programs from all over the state who brought Head Start children to enjoy the festivities.”
