Spartanburg Childcare Providers Receive Boost Through Project 100

Spartanburg County is celebrating a major win for families and small business owners with the latest round of Project 100 funding. Five locally owned childcare centers have been awarded a total of $164,000 in grants to improve quality and expand capacity.

This exciting initiative is made possible through a collaborative effort led by OneSpartanburg, Power Up Spartanburg, the Mary Black Foundation, and Spartanburg County First Steps Quality Counts program.

Together, these partners are creating 107 new childcare seats across the county.

The recipients of this round of Project 100 funding include:

  • Croft Christian Academy – $40,000 to add 34 new seats

  • Little Beginner’s – $40,000 to add 31 new seats

  • Miss Tammy’s Little Learning Center – $40,000 to add 20 new seats

  • Naomi’s Academy – $24,000 to support 2nd and 3rd-shift care, adding 12 seats

  • Victory in Learning Childcare Academy – $20,000 to open a classroom for toddlers, adding 10 seats

These investments reflect a shared commitment to strengthening Spartanburg’s early childhood system while supporting the local economy. By funding upgrades and expansions for small childcare businesses, Project 100 ensures more families have access to quality care—especially critical for working parents.

At Spartanburg County First Steps, we’re proud that our Quality Counts program plays a direct role in supporting providers and ensuring every child has a strong start.

Stay tuned as we continue to invest in the future of Spartanburg County, one seat at a time.
