United Way of the Piedmont’s “Prepared to Thrive” Book Drive

We’re feeling extra grateful — and extra excited — thanks to the generosity of the United Way of the Piedmont! Through their annual Prepared to Thrive Book Drive, First Steps Quality Counts program received more than 140 brand-new books to distribute across 25 local child development centers.

These wonderful books have been placed into the hands (and hearts) of infants, toddlers, two-year-olds, and three- and four-year-olds across our community. From colorful board books for our littlest learners to storybooks that spark imagination in preschoolers, every donation plays a part in building a love of reading from the very start.

At First Steps, we know early literacy is a key ingredient to future success — and thanks to United Way and all the amazing donors who participated, our children are better prepared to thrive, learn, and dream big.
