We are proud to announce that Stephanie Seay, Assistant Principal at Jesse Boyd Elementary, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Children’s Champion Award presented by Spartanburg County First Steps.
Each year, the Children’s Champion Award honors someone who has gone above and beyond in their commitment to young children and their families—and this year, that person is Stephanie.
Stephanie has spent her career nurturing, teaching, and inspiring children across Spartanburg County. From being named South Carolina Teacher of the Year in 2005 to now leading with heart and vision at Jesse Boyd Elementary, she has remained focused on what matters most: helping children feel seen, supported, and capable of greatness.
Her dedication goes beyond the classroom. Stephanie has taught fitness classes in her free time and strongly believes in the connection between physical health and emotional well-being. Her passion for nurturing the whole child—mind and body—is reflected in everything she does. She once described her students as natural-born creators who turn boxes into cars and tubes into rockets, proving that imagination and innovation are alive and well in every early learning space.
Stephanie’s influence is deeply felt in our community, and her story reminds us that educators are not just teachers—they are builders of dreams, confidence, and lifelong curiosity.
Please join us in celebrating Stephanie Seay as our 2025 Children’s Champion. We are grateful for her service, her spirit, and the countless lives she has touched.
